I will be your Obi Wan Kenobi, your personal training sidekick and coaching ally ensuring things stay fun and positive as you overcome the obstacles of your very own heroic wellness journey.

My Origin Story

I wasn't always a health and fitness guy. In fact, far from it.  I was never an athlete, I was always picked last in gym class and constantly picked on for being shorter than all the girls.

You see for me growing up, being skinny was my being fat.

Like many kids I found my escape in the heroes of comic books and the big screen. Seeing Superman save the city or Indiana Jones recover the Lost Ark gave me hope that I could be a hero just like them one day. And for those brief moments sitting in a darkened movie theater, the hero would defeat the bad guy to some kick ass musical score and I would forget who I was.

A shy, skinny, awkward kid who was nothing like Indiana Jones.

After years of hating my body and wanting to get “bigger” I finally mustered the courage to turn to the gym and weightlifting.

Problem was like most people I hated exercise.

Going to the gym, watching what I ate felt like my Mom constantly telling me to eat my vegetables and get to school on time.

But over the years I found ways to make fitness a little more fun and by the time I was in my 30's I was the biggest and most muscular I had ever been, and I even managed to get the girl! I had arrived at my destination and nothing could stop me now...


My Inner Villain


Over time I began to slip between bouts of over training (my form of punishment for not being good enough) and no matter how far I got on my fitness journey, I would look in the mirror and still see that scrawny kid looking back at me. I was in a constant pursuit of perfectionism where I could never find satisfaction with any fitness milestone I managed to achieve.

I had reached a place where my self worth was placed solely on how I looked.

I was in a constant battle with myself to maintain the physique I had built, terrified to let anyone see the bullied kid hiding underneath it all.

On the inside I was lost, anxious, sad and depressed and no amount of exercise or nutrition was going to fix that.

Everything finally came crumbling down to a complete stop with the end of a toxic relationship and a serious ankle injury.

Although I was a far cry from becoming suicidal, my depression was causing me to simply want out of my own experience.

To escape myself in any way possible.


Answering the Call


 And there I was, a broken man in my 40's laying among the debris of an emotionally abusive relationship with the dreaded “mid life” crisis looming over me like some harbinger of doom.

The world had forced me to stop and sit with the pain I had been trying to run away from. 

After seeking validation in other people and things outside of myself for so long, it was time to mend the relationship I had with myself. It was time to find my Heroic Self and rescue the kid inside who was lost.

And the only way out...was in.
 
I dedicated myself to meditation every day and confronted the negative thought patterns and outdated belief systems I had hung onto for most of my life.

I learned to love my body again, feel comfortable in my own skin and over time I rediscovered that little kid who saw himself inside every hero he admired growing up.

And now, no matter what...I can look in the mirror and love the man staring back at me.

What type of equipment will I need?
Effective workouts can be done with minimal to no equipment. Whether you have access to a gym or prefer working out at home or outdoors, workouts are created to fit your situation and lifestyle. If you are working out from home you may want to purchase some kettle bells, dumbbells or resistance bands.

In order to maximize your results a Fitbit, or any similar device that tracks your heart rate, steps, calories and sleep is highly recommended. Truly the only thing you need is your own body weight along with the will and determination to become truly heroic
How will I access my workouts and training program?
Your personalized training program will be accessible through an app which will help you track your progress. The app includes direct messaging, tutorials on every exercise, and I will be directly notified any time you complete a workout and/or hit a personal best
What if I feel like meditation isn’t for me? I don’t consider myself spiritual.
Meditation is for everyone! Although its completely fine to view meditation as a spiritual practice, this program focuses on meditation as a tool to gain clarity, calm the negative chatter and reprogram the beliefs that are holding you back. I will help you find a meditation and breathing technique suited to you and your level of comfort

There are many fitness experts/influencers who simply prescribe a diet and a workout routine without paying any real close attention to the bigger picture. There is a lot of  “do what I do” and you can look like me style of coaching that simply does not address the specific needs of the client. I want you to look in the mirror and love what you see, but more importantly I want you to wake up each morning and love who you are.

What if I feel scared or ashamed about how far I have let myself go?
